The woods around the town were great, but were not close to it. There were too many feilds that the farmers used. So the woods seemed to be pushed back, somewhere between the town and the castle, and even farther were mountains full of trees and animals and grass, though a bit dry from a growing drought. The mountains were not large, more like big hills that carried the spring down to the rivers.
This is where Manon (Pronounced Man-own, with a french accent) could be found. She lived in a small little hut, hidden in the mountains, behind a cave. She wandered the lands, sandals on her feet, her dress was dirty and torn from working out in the hills. Her long golden hair, pulled back out of her face, was also dirty from the air and the conditions of her working. She was a quiet girl, and wasn't used to people, after her father died, her mother left and she was left with a neighbor, not wanting to leave.
She wandered the hills and looked for where she had put the bird traps, she only found about three that had birds in them, so she carried them back to the hut and then began to walk through the hills again. The goats were at home, she had already done her chores, for she was a shepardess, and herded the goats around the hills on most days. But not today, today she was out to enjoy herself, wondering if anything would happen out of the ordinary or whether she would simply play around the hills all day.
